Secondary math tuition, Sec 1 to Sec 4

Small G3 classes of up to 8 students, taught by teachers trained in the Matrix Method. Your child learns why each method works, practises it on exam-style questions, and goes home with notes and a video explanation for each week’s homework.

A Matrix Math® teacher works through a Sec 2 maps and scales question (7 min). Notice how the teacher records the map and actual values side by side, works out what 1 cm stands for, then answers exactly what the question asks. That is the Matrix Method at work.

Where secondary maths gets harder

Most parents start looking for secondary math tuition at one of three points.

Sec 1: algebra arrives

Model drawings give way to letters and equations, and children who drew out every question in primary school often stall. We show them how the reasoning they already know carries into algebra, so the new methods make sense instead of feeling like rules to memorise.

Sec 3: A Math is a big step up

Surds, logarithms and new trigonometry arrive quickly, and gaps from Sec 1 and Sec 2 start to show in E Math too. In a small class, the teacher spots those gaps early.

Sec 4: every mark counts

2026 is the last year of the O-Level. From 2027 it becomes the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC). SEAB has said the standards and grading stay the same, so good preparation does too: steady practice on exam-style questions, then exam intensives and mock papers in the final months.

How our secondary math tuition works

Your child attends one 2-hour lesson a week. Lessons follow the G3 syllabus set by SEAB, so what they learn matches what is tested in school and in the national exam. Every lesson has the same three parts.

In each lesson

  1. Learn the concept. The teacher explains why a method works, not just the steps to copy.
  2. Guided practice. Your child tries questions while the teacher checks their working.
  3. Exam-style questions. The lesson ends with questions set the way schools and the national exam set them.

Our R&D team of teachers studies past exam papers from top schools to see how each topic is being tested, then builds our lesson plans around what they find.

Every class at the same level follows the same lesson plan, so your child gets the same teaching at any of our 12 centres in Singapore.

Who our classes are for

Our secondary programme is built on the G3 syllabus. Students from other tracks join the same classes, and we are upfront about how well we fit.

G3 math tuition

Our curriculum is G3 from Sec 1 to Sec 4: the level that leads to the O-Level and, from 2027, to the G3 papers of the SEC.

O-Level and SEC math tuition: E Math and A Math

In Sec 3 and Sec 4, E Math and A Math are taught in separate classes. Sec 4 students also get exam intensives, holiday programmes and mock papers as the national exam approaches.

IP math tuition

We don’t run separate IP classes. IP students join our G3 classes, which cover most of what IP schools teach. Some IP schools add topics or move ahead of the G3 order, so tell us your child’s school and we will tell you honestly how closely we match.

G2 students moving up to G3

With classes of up to 8, the teacher has time to give G2 students, and anyone who has fallen behind, the extra help they need to keep up with G3 work.

International school students

Students from international schools are welcome. Tell us which curriculum your child follows, and we will tell you how closely our lessons match it.

Secondary math tuition fees

Fees are for 10 lessons, nett. There are no registration or material fees.

Questions parents ask

How much is secondary math tuition at Matrix Math®?

Fees are for 10 lessons, nett: Sec 1 and Sec 2 are $690. Sec 3 is $710 per subject and Sec 4 is $720 per subject. If your child takes both E Math and A Math, you save $15 on each subject. There are no registration or material fees.

Is your secondary math tuition G3 or G2?

Our curriculum is G3 from Sec 1 to Sec 4. G2 students are welcome in our classes, and with up to 8 students per class, the teacher has time to give them extra help, including those aiming to move up to G3.

Do you offer IP math tuition?

We don’t run separate IP classes. IP students join our G3 classes, which cover most of what IP schools teach. Some IP schools add topics or move ahead of the G3 order, so tell us your child’s school and we will tell you honestly how closely we match.

Do you teach E Math and A Math?

Yes. In Sec 3 and Sec 4, E Math and A Math are taught in separate classes. Taking both saves you $15 on each subject.

Is the O-Level changing, and does it affect my child?

2026 is the last year of the O-Level. From 2027, the O-Level and N-Level are combined into the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC). SEAB has said the overall standards do not change, and G3 subjects keep the same grading as the O-Level. Our lessons follow the current SEAB syllabus.

How many students are in each class?

Up to 8 students, so the teacher can check every student’s working, not just the final answer.

What happens at the trial lesson?

Your child joins a normal 2-hour class at their level. Afterwards, the teacher sends you detailed feedback on WhatsApp. The trial costs $75 nett, and if your child joins within a week, it counts as the first lesson.

When can my child start?

Any week. Your child’s 10 lessons begin the week they join, so there is no need to wait for a new term.

What if my child misses a lesson?

Your child can make it up in another class at the same level.

Do classes run during the school holidays?

Our centres close on school holidays and public holidays, and those weeks don’t count towards your child’s 10 lessons. We also run holiday programmes, including exam preparation for Sec 4.
