Best Math Tuition Singapore Lesson 13

LESSON 13 SYNOPSIS (10 March – 16 March 2025)

10 March 2025

At Matrix Math, we provide an engaging and detailed learning experience for your child. Matrix Math Tuition programme focuses on essential concepts that will further strengthen their mathematical foundation. The lesson synopsis gives parents a clear preview of the topics and problem-solving skills that will be covered in class. At Matrix Math, we ensure that each lesson is designed to build confidence and mastery in math, preparing students for success in both school and beyond.

Primary 1 Lesson 13

In Lesson 13, we will begin with the first lesson on “Numbers to 20”

The lesson will focus on two main topics: “Place Values” and “Number Patterns.” Through this lesson, students will learn how to identify the place value of numbers and understand number patterns.

Specifically, the students will learn how to identify the correct common difference in a series of numbers. This will help them develop their critical thinking skills and better understand number patterns.

Primary 2 Lesson 13

We’re continuing with Length Lesson 3 and diving into some new concepts. Here’s what we’ll be covering:

  • Comparison of quantity, given information on group and difference.
  • Comparison of quantity, given information on total and difference.
  • Comparison of quantity, given information on total and difference of 3 groups.

Concept 2 is a commonly tested heuristic concept, so we’ll provide more practice questions. Concept 3 is considered quite challenging for Primary 2 students, so we’ve pre-drawn the models for this series of questions to help guide them through it.

Primary 3 Lesson 13

We’ll be continuing with Money Lesson 3 In this lesson, we’ll be covering three main concepts:

  • Problem sums with both multiplications and division
  • Grouping – Ignore the remainder
  • Supposition method

Concept 2 is a very common way that problem sums related to money are tested, so we’ll be spending some time on that. And for Concept 3, we know that this can be a difficult concept for many students. We introduced it earlier in the “Whole Numbers” topic, and we’ll be repeating and reinforcing it in future lessons to help your children better understand it.

Primary 4 Lesson 13

This week, we will continue with our second revision lesson, focusing on three key problem-sum concepts that are very commonly tested in exams:

  • Factors and Multiples
  • External Transfers
  • Internal Transfers

These concepts are frequently assessed, making it essential for students to master them. Regular revision helps reinforce understanding and ensures students can apply these concepts effectively. We encourage students to review their past worksheets and clarify any doubts during the lesson.

Primary 5 Lesson 13

Students will be introduced to the topic of Triangles.

While some schools may cover this topic later in the year, based on previous experience, most schools will cover it in the first half of the academic year.

From our observation, most students can easily find the area of triangles, even for complex problems. However, they sometimes need help identifying the correct height and base. To help improve this, we will provide additional exposure and practice through triangle-related questions.

Primary 6 Lesson 13

In Lesson 12, we will introduce the basic building blocks of Circle questions, which are crucial to understanding and solving more complex Circle problems.

These building blocks include –

  • Quadrant/semi-circle
  • Sector
  • Boomerang
  • Petal

After the lesson, students must revise to have a strong grasp and understanding of these shapes.
