LESSON 34 SYNOPSIS (4 August – 10 August 2025)

Primary 1 Lesson 34

This week, we have an exciting topic planned for your children – “length”. In this lesson, they will not only learn how to measure length using unit rulers and real rulers, but they will also have the opportunity to measure real items around them! It’s going to be a fun and interactive experience that will help them grasp the concept of length more effectively.

Primary 2 Lesson 34

Our focus for this week will remain on reviewing and reinforcing previously taught concepts. Specifically, we will be covering the following topics:

Problem-Sums Relating to Money: We will delve into applications of mathematics through problem-solving exercises involving money.
Model Drawing: The students will further practice part-whole model drawing and revise the concept of comparisonmodel drawing.
Multiplication and divisions: The students will revisit the concept of groupings which is an approach used predominantly in problem sums relating to multiplication and division

Primary 3 Lesson 34

In the upcoming three lessons, Lesson 34 and the following two, we will comprehensively revise the concepts covered since June. This revision period will prioritise the following areas:

Operations: We will revisit the fundamental operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division through various problem-solving exercises.
Problem sums involving Measurement: We will review and tackle problem sums related to measurement.
Fractions problem sums: Students will revisit and practice various fraction concepts, including simplifying fractions, equivalent fractions, comparing fractions, and solving fraction-based problem sums.

Primary 4 Lesson 34

This week, our focus will be on revisiting previously taught topics and concepts.

This lesson is designed to consolidate learning and strengthen understanding in the following areas through problem sums:

Comparison by units
Decimals
Area and Perimeter
Geometry
Quantity and Value
Quantity Transfer
Factors and multiples
Interval Concept

By engaging with these concepts through practical problem-solving, students will reinforce their proficiency in these diverse areas.

Primary 5 Lesson 34

This week, we will focus on deepening students’ understanding of area and perimeter, with an emphasis on solving real-world and multi-step problems involving geometric figures.

Key concepts covered in this lesson include:

Finding Perimeter from Area and Proportions
Composite Figures and Repeated Shapes
“Cut and Paste” Perimeter Strategy
Application-Based Problems

Primary 6 Lesson 34

This week, we will continue with PSLE Revision Lesson 8.

This lesson will involve a systematic review and practice of essential topics, concepts, and problem-solving methods commonly tested in the PSLE. We aim to strengthen students’ understanding, problem-solving abilities, and confidence as they prepare for the upcoming examination.

Active participation and completing the assigned additional practice exercises are crucial for effective revision. These exercises are designed to align with the PSLE requirements, providing students with valuable exposure to the types of questions they may encounter and opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills effectively.
