At Matrix Math, we provide an engaging and detailed learning experience for your child. Matrix Math Tuition programme focuses on essential concepts that will further strengthen their mathematical foundation. The lesson synopsis gives parents a clear preview of the topics and problem-solving skills that will be covered in class. At Matrix Math, we ensure that each lesson is designed to build confidence and mastery in math, preparing students for success in both school and beyond.
Primary 1 Lesson 2
Lesson 2, we will continue with “numbers to 10”.
We will teach the students how to break down number statements into parts and whole. This will form the basis for the teaching of part and whole modelling. In this lesson, we aim to demonstrate to the children the connection between
- The concepts of parts and whole, and
- Simple addition number statements
Primary 2 Lesson 2
Lesson 2, we will continue with Whole Numbers 2.
In this lesson, we will focus on math operations involving
- Missing numbers
- Multiplication and divisions
- Place values
Primary 3 Lesson 2
Lesson 2, we will continue with Whole Numbers 2.
We will focus on multiplications.
- Concepts of multiplications
- Operations involving 1 digit x 2 digits
- Place values up to hundreds.
Primary 4 Lesson 2
In the upcoming lesson, our focus will be on refining three vital skills:
- Estimation and Approximation:
These techniques are frequently underestimated because they may appear to rely on mere logic or intelligent guesswork. However, the reality is quite different.
- Finding the Smallest Possible Value:
Determining the smallest possible value in a problem requires a structured methodology.
- Finding the Largest Possible Value:
Identifying the largest conceivable value demands a systematic approach.
These three concepts are fundamental and we will emphasize strategies to avoid the pitfalls of careless mistakes that can often occur.
Primary 5 Lesson 2
Lesson 2, we will build upon our exploration of Whole Numbers.
During this lesson, our focus will be on three distinct types of questions that revolve around the concept of grouping values:
- Grouping using tables.
- Grouping using models.
- Grouping with remainder.
These are fundamental methods through which schools assess students’ comprehension and problem-solving skills when it comes to the grouping of values.
Primary 6 Lesson 2
Lesson 2, we will continue with Algebra 2.
In Algebra 1, we taught the students the arithmetics rules of Algebra. In this lesson, we will be applying these rules to problem sums.
In the second half of the lesson, we will be doing Whole Numbers in preparation for lesson 3.
