At Matrix Math, we provide an engaging and detailed learning experience for your child. Matrix Math Tuition programme focuses on essential concepts that will further strengthen their mathematical foundation. The lesson synopsis gives parents a clear preview of the topics and problem-solving skills that will be covered in class. At Matrix Math, we ensure that each lesson is designed to build confidence and mastery in math, preparing students for success in both school and beyond.
Primary 1 Lesson 1
We will begin our 1st lesson for the new academic year.
For P1 students, we will continue with their JEI Math. In addition, we will be introducing Matrix Math to the lessons. Matrix Math will be according to the school syllabus.
For all P1 lessons, the priority will be to complete the Matrix Math worksheets and balance time on JEI Math. The proportion of time we will spend on Matrix Math will increase gradually towards the end of 2026 while the time spent on JEI Math in the class will reduce correspondingly.
JEI Math – focus on the children’s fundamental mathematics skills.
Matrix Math – according to the school syllabus, with a focus on problem-solving concepts.
Primary 2 Lesson 1
In this initial lesson, our primary focus will be on the fundamentals of whole numbers. While this may initially appear as computational mathematics, it lays the essential groundwork for more complex problem-solving questions that will follow.
Our objective is to equip our students with foundational skills early on. We aim to cultivate their reasoning skills, analytical thinking, and a systematic approach to problem-solving. These skills will serve as valuable assets throughout their academic journey.
Primary 3 Lesson 1
In our first lesson, we will delve into the fundamentals of whole numbers. While this may involve a significant amount of computational math, it serves as the cornerstone for more complex problem-solving questions in the future.
We aim to lay a solid groundwork that will nurture your child’s reasoning skills, foster analytical thinking, and instill a systematic approach to problem-solving for their future development.
Primary 4 Lesson 1
In our first lesson, our primary focus will be on the fundamental aspects of whole numbers. This particular lesson may initially appear rather computation-heavy, as it lays the essential groundwork for more advanced problem-solving questions.
Primary 5 Lesson 1
Primary 5 will present a greater challenge. The concepts that children learned in Primary 4 will now become more complex and indirect. Additionally, we will introduce some significant topics, including Triangles, and Percentage. Our lessons will progressively intensify to ensure our students are well-prepared. We appreciate your support and understanding.
This week we will cover:
- Difference remains unchanged
- Total remains unchanged
- Factors and multiples
- Shortage and surplus
Primary 6 Lesson 1
We want to highlight that 2026 will fly by, and before we realise it, the SA1 and preliminary exams will be here. In P6, topics that were familiar from P5 will become more challenging, and we will introduce new and more complex subjects like Algebra, Ratio, and Circles. In light of these upcoming challenges, we are dedicated to encouraging our students to excel. We genuinely seek your support and understanding on this journey.
This Week’s Lesson: Introduction to Algebra
In this week’s lesson, we will begin our journey into Algebra. Generally, most students find Algebra quite manageable once they understand the basics, as these concepts are usually less complex than heuristics.
Your active participation in your child’s education is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or require further information, please feel free to reach out.
