At Matrix Math, we provide an engaging and detailed learning experience for your child. Matrix Math Tuition programme focuses on essential concepts that will further strengthen their mathematical foundation. The lesson synopsis gives parents a clear preview of the topics and problem-solving skills that will be covered in class. At Matrix Math, we ensure that each lesson is designed to build confidence and mastery in math, preparing students for success in both school and beyond.
Primary 1 Lesson 14
In Lesson 14, we shall continue with numbers up to 20.
This lesson’s main emphasis will be on applying “Place Value” principles in performing addition and subtraction operations. Furthermore, students will learn addition and subtraction of three numbers.
Primary 2 Lesson 14
In Lesson 14, we will continue with Length, specifically delving into the below concepts.
- Comparison of units: Students will compare the length of two items by multiples.
- Working backwards: We will encourage students to approach problem-solving from a different perspective by exploring the concept of working backwards.
- Properties of squares: Lastly, we will be exploring the properties of squares and how they relate to our understanding of length.
Primary 3 Lesson 14
In Lesson 14, we will continue with Money, specifically delving into the following problem sums concepts.
-
- Comparison of quantity: Students will learn to compare Money in terms of value, gaining a deeper understanding of how they relate to one another.
- Comparison of units: We will also explore the comparison of Money by multiples.
Additionally, this lesson will expose students to different ways in which “comparison of units” questions can be tested.
Primary 4 Lesson 14
n Lesson 14, we will be in starting on Fractions. Fraction is an important topic for Primary 4. In this lesson, we will begin with the fundamentals of Fractions.
We will cover the following:
- Equivalent fractions
- Mixed numbers and improper fractions
- Comparing and ordering of fractions
We have included many practices in this lesson and additional practice as homework.
Primary 5 Lesson 14
In Lesson 14, we will continue our exploration of the Area of Triangles, focusing on four common ways these types of questions can be tested.
To do well in this topic, it is essential to have broad exposure to different forms of Area of Triangles questions. In subsequent lessons, we will expose the children to more questions to help them better understand the concept.
Primary 6 Lesson 14
This week, we will be introducing the basic application of the Speed formula, which states that Speed = Distance ÷ Time. This lesson will be relatively easy, designed to provide students with the foundational knowledge needed to tackle more complex problems in the coming weeks.
Over the next three weeks, we will be delving deeper into the subject of Speed, which will be challenging for many students. To make the process more manageable, we have categorised various Speed questions and will demonstrate how to solve them step-by-step.
