Lessons for the week of 26 October to 1 November 2026

End-of-year maths revision for P1 to P5

Here’s what your child will work on at Matrix Math® this week, level by level. Many P3 to P5 pupils are sitting their school end-of-year exams around now, so every lesson this week is another revision set covering the year’s key topics.

P6 and Secondary: no classes until the week of 23 November 2026.

All lessons are aligned with the latest MOE mathematics syllabus.

Primary 1 maths: end-of-year revision

Topic: End-of-year revision (Select 11) – a mixed review of the year’s key P1 topics

  • Find a missing part from a whole using the part-whole model (e.g. how many men out of 87 adults)
  • Work backwards to find a “before” amount when we know what was given away and what is left
  • Solve addition and subtraction word problems involving “more than” and “altogether”
  • Understand multiplication as groups, matching “3 groups of 4” to repeated addition and 3 x 4
  • Compare the values of number sentences
  • Complete number patterns that go up or down by a fixed step
  • Read picture graphs to find the most popular item, differences and totals
  • Count objects by circling groups of 5
  • Tell the time using am and pm
  • Use clues about position (left, right, between) to place children in a row

Primary 2 maths: end-of-year revision

Topic: End-of-year revision (Select 15) – a mixed review of the year’s key P2 topics

  • Tell the correct time when a clock is running fast or slow
  • Read tables and complete picture graphs to compare data
  • Solve mass and volume problems in g, L and ml, such as finding the mass of one item from a total
  • Compare money between three children using the comparison model
  • Find the number of cats or goats from a total number of legs using the “suppose all” method
  • Work out fractions of a whole when a cake is shared
  • Find the distance between trees with the intervals concept
  • Practise multiplication and division in two-step word problems, including “thrice as many” and simple unit pricing (e.g. 4 apples for $12)
  • Form the smallest or greatest 3-digit number using odd and even numbers

Primary 3 maths: end-of-year exam revision

Topic: End-of-year exam revision (Select 15) – a mixed review of the year’s key P3 topics

  • Find the area and perimeter of figures made of squares and rectangles, including strips of paper that have been folded
  • Calculate time durations in hours and minutes, including periods across midnight (e.g. sleeping from 10:34 pm to 6:20 am)
  • Identify parallel lines, right angles and angles smaller than a right angle, and count the right angles a minute hand turns through
  • Add and subtract fractions with different denominators, and find a fraction of a remainder
  • Read bar graphs to compare data
  • Convert between kilograms and grams
  • Solve “times as much” problems with the unit method and bar models
  • Use the intervals concept for flags placed along a path
  • Work out how many to give away so that two children end up with equal amounts

Primary 4 maths: end-of-year exam revision

Topic: End-of-year exam revision (Select 16) – a mixed review of the year’s key P4 topics

  • Round decimals, identify place values (e.g. thousandths) and express decimals as fractions
  • Add and subtract mixed numbers, and locate them on a number line
  • Find fractions of a set in multi-step problems (e.g. adults and children at a party)
  • Calculate the area and perimeter of composite figures, folded paper and gardens made of squares
  • Continue number patterns to find the 20th pattern
  • Solve “before and after” problems using the unchanged difference concept
  • Use bar models and units for comparison problems (e.g. stickers shared between two albums)
  • Complete figures using a line of symmetry
  • Read pie charts given in fractions
  • Use the grouping method to solve “legs” problems (e.g. chickens and dogs on a farm)
  • Practise listing multiples

Primary 5 maths: end-of-year exam revision

Topic: End-of-year exam revision (Select 18) – a mixed review of the year’s key P5 topics

  • Solve “suppose all” problems (e.g. payments for vases delivered on time or late)
  • Use the grouping method for repeating patterns, such as weekly savings and strings of beads
  • Work with fraction of a remainder and unchanged quantity in before-and-after problems
  • Calculate percentages, including discounts, pie charts and changes in the make-up of a collection
  • Find the area of triangles and composite figures
  • Work out the volume of cuboid tanks, including water levels when taps fill and drain at the same time, and convert cm³ to litres
  • Find unknown angles in triangles, parallelograms and rhombuses
  • Use the lowest common multiple to compare prices of fruit sold in packs
  • Count painted faces on a solid made of unit cubes
  • Review rounding, decimals and fraction calculations

P6 and Secondary

There are no P6 or Secondary classes until the week of 23 November 2026.

The Matrix Method behind every lesson

Every Matrix Math® lesson is built on the Matrix Method, which we have refined since 2008. It sorts maths into clear compartments of topics, concepts and methods, so your child learns to recognise the type of problem in front of them and choose the right method to solve it.

That is exactly what revision week is for. By working through many problem types in one sitting, your child practises spotting which method fits, just as they will need to in a school exam.
