Why parents look for Primary 2 math tuition

The biggest change from Primary 1 to Primary 2 is how problem sums are solved. In Primary 2, children are introduced to more heuristics: set methods for working out a problem sum, such as drawing a bar model. For example, your child will start to see problem sums that need three bar models drawn together to compare three groups.

Try it before you open the working. Many children add the numbers they can see and answer 36. But Group C is not 6 pupils. It is Group B and 6 more. The working shows the bar model that makes this clear.
